About The Author

Raquel M.R. Thomas – Mother, Author, Entrepreneur, Mentor, Leader

Raquel M.R. Thomas is a serial entrepreneur turned community builder and servant.

A native of Columbia, South Carolina, Raquel took a broken childhood and used it to fuel her passion and purpose. A former high school athlete turned collegiate scholar, Raquel graduated from Virginia State University with a degree in Marketing and went on to earned a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Maryland..

Raquel created Dream Catchers Foundation a non-profit organization for children who dare to dream. The Foundation’s mission is to teach and demonstrate to children that dreamers can catch their dreams by living healthy, productive, goal driven lives.

Raquel has dedicated her life to enriching, empowering and equipping women and children. She is now the proud mother of two Roman and Raquel of whom the children series characters are based upon! She is also the author of, What Becomes of A Broken Soul and Shifting into Purpose: The Journey to Entrepreneurship.

About The Editor

Roman Thomas – Editor

Roman R. Thomas is 6 years old and he is a 2nd grader. He loves to read! Roman is the co-editor for each book in the series and he takes pride in reading daily.

He is working on writing chapter books for children his age! He loves his family and enjoys family time. As a young editor he is enjoys being creative and allowing his imagination to run wide.

Roman is an excellent student and earns all “A’s” on his report cards! He is a super reader who loves to read comics and actions filled books. Outside of Roman’s education Roman also, plays the piano. He also, loves to play sports! He plays soccer, basketball, baseball, and loves to swim. He hopes to play football in the near future as well!

Why entrepreneurship?

I believe that entrepreneurship is the key to building a strong legacy and generational wealth.

Why did you come up with a kids series for 1st-5th graders?

First, I love children’s and I’m passionate about their education. I truly feel that we need to teach entrepreneurship to our children early. It is never too early to teach entrepreneurship and it can be lots of fun!

What was your motivation when writing the series?

I was in South America, Paraguay to be exact teaching young children about leadership. They inspired me to write books for young children because they needed to see that even they can own their own business despite how poor most of them are. The children there are up against very tough circumstances and they need hope. They gave me hope! So, while I was there on my bus ride to teach each morning and on my way back to my hotel each evening I wrote the stories that I knew my children would love in return the children of Paraguay as well.

What’s next?

There will be 2 more books coming during the holidays and also the books will be published in Spanish for the young children in Paraguay! We have backpacks, lunch packs, jigsaw puzzles, and more merchandise coming to support the books!
